Here is the text rewritten in a clearer, more elegant and engaging style:
Since its opening in 1819, the Prado Museum has assembled an extraordinary collection of paintings, sculptures, prints, drawings and decorative arts that span the history of Spanish and European art, making it one of the most prestigious museums in the world.
Born from the former Spanish Royal Collection, the then Royal Museum was renamed the National Museum of Painting and Sculpture and, finally, the Prado National Museum. Currently, its collection has approximately 7,600 paintings, 1,000 sculptures, 4,800 engravings, 8,200 drawings and numerous historical documents of great value.
With your ticket valid for the whole day, you can access more than 1,300 works exhibited in the main building. Given the breadth of the collection, the museum has designed three thematic tours highlighting its major masterpieces, spanning from Romanesque art to the 19th century.
During the visit, you also have the option of purchasing an audio guide (not included in the ticket price), which will help you discover in a simple and structured way key works by artists such as Bartolomé Bermejo, Pedro Berruguete, Sánchez Coello, El Greco, Ribera, Zurbarán, Murillo, Alonso Cano, Velázquez and Goya.
Admission does not include reduction for seniors, students, children or under 18
The museum is free for everyone from Monday to Saturday 18:00 - 20:00 h, and Sundays and holidays 17:00 - 19:00
